The Bekasi Health Agency (Dinkes) has come under intense scrutiny after LSM Forkorindo sent a clarification letter regarding the agency's budget usage and activities. However, in its response, Dinkes claimed that their financial account had been hacked, which prevented them from providing the requested information. This claim has raised doubts and criticism from various parties, including LSM Forkorindo.
In a press conference held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, the Secretary-General of LSM Forkorindo, Timbul Sinaga SE, expressed his disappointment with the Health Agency’s uncooperative attitude. According to Sinaga, the agency should be more transparent and accountable in responding to requests for clarification regarding public funds.
"The explanation provided by Dinkes about the hacking of their financial account is not convincing. It raises more questions than answers. If a hack truly occurred, why hasn’t there been any clear and transparent action taken regarding recovery or investigation?" Sinaga said.
Furthermore, Sinaga added that, to this day, the Bekasi Health Agency has failed to provide proof of an official police report regarding the alleged hacking of their financial account. "We urge Dinkes to show proof that they have reported this incident to the police. Without concrete evidence, this claim of hacking only appears to be an excuse to avoid accountability," Sinaga emphasized.
He also stressed that financial management in government agencies should be equipped with adequate security systems, considering the importance of public budget data. "If the hack is true, it highlights weaknesses in the security systems meant to protect state assets. However, this explanation does not justify the lack of clarity regarding the budget usage we are questioning," Sinaga continued.
LSM Forkorindo is also calling on relevant authorities, such as the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), to conduct a thorough audit of the Bekasi Health Agency’s budget and provide a public clarification. Sinaga reaffirmed that his organization will continue to monitor the issue to ensure accountability and transparency in government budget management.
"This is the people’s money, and we will continue to demand that the budget usage be audited and properly accounted for," Sinaga stated.
On the other hand, the Bekasi Health Agency has not provided further clarification regarding the follow-up on the alleged hacking claim, which has increased uncertainty and concern among the public and observers. This case has now become a public concern, with many hoping for a more in-depth explanation and firm action from the authorities.(Redaksi)
