Residents of Sumber Jaya Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency, were shocked by the alleged scandal involving a local official (PJ) of the local village head. The person, who is also a Civil Servant (PNS) in Siak Kecil District, is suspected of having a mistress, an action that is considered to tarnish the image of public officials and damage public trust.
This allegation was sticking out after a number of residents claimed to often see the PJ village head coming to the house of a woman who was in one of the villages in Siak Regency. Which was allegedly not his legal wife, especially at night. This news quickly spread in the community, triggers criticism and insistence so that the authorities immediately intervene to investigate the truth of the information.

As a State Civil Apparatus (ASN), the PJ Head of Sumber Jaya Village should uphold ethics and compliance with the law, as regulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 53 of 2010 concerning Discipline of Civil Servants. In this regulation, civil servants are required to maintain integrity, honesty, and dignity both in official and personal life. If this allegation is proven, then the action of the person can be categorized as a violation of severe discipline that has the potential to be subject to strict sanctions, including removal from his position.
In addition, in his capacity as a village head, he is also bound by Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, which requires each village head to be an example for the community and maintain the good name of the village government. The alleged scandal is certainly contrary to the principle of leadership that should be carried out.
A number of residents expressed their disappointment with the behavior of the person. They consider that a village leader should be an example in upholding morals and ethics, not even involved in scandals that hurt public trust.
"We are very disappointed. An official should be able to maintain dignity and become a role model, not actually behave like this. We hope that the government will immediately take decisive action, "said a resident who declined to be named.
At present, the Sumber Jaya Village community is waiting for concrete steps from the authorities, both from the sub -district and related agencies in Bengkalis Regency. They hope that there will be a transparent and accountable investigation to ensure the truth of this allegation.
If proven guilty, the PJ Sumber Jaya Village Head not only faces administrative sanctions, but also has the potential to be charged with heavier rules. Because, as a civil servant, he must submit to the regulations governing the behavior of civil servants, including the prohibition of more than one wife without official permission as regulated in Government Regulation No. 45 of 1990 concerning Marriage and Divorce Permit for PNS.
Until this news was revealed, the sub -district and related agencies have not given an official statement related to this allegation. However, residents continue to demand that this case not be allowed to drag on and immediately receive serious attention from the local government.
